Impact
A local attacker which gains access to the smokeping user could gain root privileges.
Workaround
There is no known workaround at this time.
Resolution
Gentoo has discontinued support for Smokeping. We recommend that users remove it:
# emerge --ask --depclean "net-analyzer/smokeping"
